Recent Additions - Cufflinks and Stickpins


Recent additions to the Antique Cufflink Gallery include several pairs of Art Deco cufflinks set with bright blue sapphires, an elegant Carrington dress set, striking guilloche enamel cufflinks by Krementz and a number of other richly engraved cufflinks from the early 20th century.


Keller Egyptian Revival cufflinks. (J9238)

Egyptian Revival  Stylized lotus blossoms and splayed papyrus fronds surround bright blue sapphires and radiant sun bursts adding Pharaonic splendor to these Art Deco cufflinks.  Crafted in platinum and 14kt gold,  circa 1925.    Cost:  Sold


Ehrlich & Sinnock sapphire and gold cufflinks. (J9226)

Sapphire and Gold  Rich blue sapphires set amid bright gold centers of concentric circles, stylized acanthus leaves and finely milgrained edges.  The Art Deco jeweler let no chance escape to embellish this richly detailed design.  Crafted in 14kt gold,  circa 1925.    Cost:  Sold

Lavender and Gold  Arresting Art Deco cufflinks with lavender and black enamel centers accented with yellow gold pinstripes and borders.  Created by Krementz & Company in 14kt gold,  circa 1925.    Cost:  $975


Carrington diamond and mother-of-pearl dress set. (J9240)

Carrington Elegance  Sparkling diamonds in platinum set amid radiant waves etched in mother-of-pearl all surrounded by jazzy platinum borders  A jazzy example of the Carrington sense of understated elegance.  Crafted in platinum and 14kt gold, circa 1925.    Cost:  $1,625

Winter Jazz  Radiant checkerboard centers surrounded by bold Jazz Age borders.  These Art Deco cufflinks glimmer with the frosty elegance of icicles glittering in the early morning sun.  Crafted in 14kt gold,  circa 1925.    Cost:  $875


Bippart, Griscom Egyptian Revival cufflinks. (J9228)

Pharaoh's Pool  Waving papyrus reeds and elegant anthemia surround a rippling pool of golden water or, perhaps, it is a hidden garden maze.  Art Deco cufflinks with the mysteries of ancient Egypt.  Crafted in 14kt gold, circa 1925.    Cost:  $875


Elegantly engraved platinum and gold cufflinks. (J9231)

Pizzazz  Bright Art Deco cufflinks with intricately engraved platinum centers surrounded by yellow gold borders with stylized palmette corners.  Crafted in platinum and 14kt gold,  circa 1920.    Cost:  $485

Regal Dragon  A fierce dragon watches menacingly while maintaining a certain regal composure.  The dragon is beautifully rendered - note the fine details of the wings, the scales along the neck and body and the expressive features of the head.  Crafted in 14kt gold,  circa 1900.

Art Nouveau insect stickpin. (J9237)

The Gold Bug The diamond-set head, elongated shield-shape body and golden forelegs of this abstractly rendered insect are framed by dramatically outward sweeping wings.  A wonderful example of American Art Nouveau design.  Crafted in 14kt gold,  circa 1900.

Hans Brassler scarab and serpent stickpin. (J9185)

Scarab and Serpents  The mysteries of ancient Egypt ... two serpents with entwined tails surround a scarab carved in lapis lazuli.  A stylized lotus blossom rest atop the serpents and scarab.  This stickpin was created by Hans Brassler in 14kt gold, circa 1910.    Cost:  $725

Recent Additions


July is traditionally a quiet month in the jewelry trade. But, despite taking time to hike in the mountains with the beagle and watching the Tour de France, I have added several pairs of cufflinks, stickpins and brooches to the Antique Cufflink and Antique and Estate Jewelry Galleries.

Antique Cufflinks

Recent additions to the Antique Cufflink Gallery include two beautiful enamel pairs - one British and one created by the quintessential American jewelry maker, Krementz & Company.


Elegant blue guilloche enamel cufflinks. (J9072)

Regal Blue Elegant cufflinks with regal blue enamels and striking Art Deco borders crafted in white gold. Engraved radiant starbursts are highlighted by the translucent enamel. Created by Krementz & Company in 14kt gold, circa 1925.


British blue enamel cufflinks. (J9029)

Blue and Gold Elegant British cufflinks with engraved gold centers of rippling lines surrounded by beautiful blue enamel borders. Crafted in 9kt gold, circa 1925.

Antique and Estate Jewelry

Recent additions to the Antique and Estate Jewelry Gallery include two striking brooches and two equally beautiful stickpins.


Victorian serpent and acanthus leaf brooch. (J9069)

Serpent and Acanthus A fierce lion-headed serpent with a tail of flame-like acanthus leaves warily guards this brooch with a jealous green eye. A glowing pearl is set in the center. Created in 14kt gold, circa 1890.


Bippart, Griscom Art Nouveau amethyst and pearl brooch. (J9071)

Amethyst and Pearls II A dramatic Art Nouveau brooch of undulating curves and entwined organic shapes set with a regal purple amethyst and five small pearls. Created by Bippart, Griscom & Osborn in 14kt gold, circa 1900.


Acorns and Oak An oak leaf and two acorns suspend from a small branch. The oak leaf is beautifully enameled with shimmering shades of green, yellow and pink. The acorns are set with two small pearls. Crafted in 18kt and 14kt gold, circa 1900.

Laurel Wreath and Moonstone The classical elegance of a wreath of laurel leaves surrounding a luminous moonstone. The laurel wreath is exquisitely crafted and detailed. Crafted in 14kt gold, circa 1900.

Recent Additions


The past month has been busy. I have been working with several cufflink collectors off-line and adding a collection of brooches to the Estate Jewelry Gallery. Recent additions to the Antique Cufflink Gallery include a striking pair of Art Nouveau sunflowers crafted by the unidentified "Maltese Cross" maker and an equally dramatic pair of black-and-white cufflinks from the 1930s.

Sunflowers Exuberant sunflowers and a tangle of whiplash vines grace these Art Nouveau cufflinks. The dramatic sunflowers and vines are beautifully sculpted in 14kt gold, circa 1900.


Dramatic Art Deco black enamel cufflinks. (J9054)

Black and White  Dramatic Art Deco cufflinks with striking black enamel borders and linearly engraved white gold centers.  Created by Enos Richardson & Co. in 14kt gold,  circa 1930.



The fine cufflink makers often featured in these pages created a variety elegant jewels. Below is a trilogy of brooches created by Krementz & Co., Whiteside & Blank and Bippart, Griscom & Osborn in the years around 1900. The same care these jewelers brought to the design and crafting of cufflinks is also seen in these beautiful brooches.

Amethyst and Pearls A striking Art Nouveau brooch with pastel enamel leaves, pearl clusters and a small diamond surrounding a regal amethyst. Created by Krementz & Company in 14kt gold, circa 1900.

Art Nouveau A beautiful Art Nouveau brooch of intertwined ginkgo leaves surrounding a lavender pastel Amethyst. Created by Whiteside & Blank in 14kt gold, circa 1900.

Clover and Pearls A beautifully enameled Victorian lucky clover brooch. The edges of the petals and stem are gold and set with small graduated pearls. Created by Bippart, Griscom & Osborn in 14kt gold, circa 1900.
