Recent additions to the Antique Cufflink Gallery include elegant Art Deco cufflinks set with sapphires and diamonds and a Carter dress set with smoky mother-of-pearl.

Sapphires and Diamonds  Beautifully engraved platinum cufflinks with striking blue sapphires, sparkling white diamonds and borders decorated in the best Art Deco taste.  Created in platinum and 14kt gold,  circa 1920.    Cost:  Sold

Carter Twilight   Dark mother-of-pearl set in white gold borders engraved with intricate, swirling scrolls.  The iridescent twilight shades of the mother-of-pearl contrasts beautifully with the brightness of the white gold.  Created in 14kt gold,  circa 1925.    Cost:  Sold

In the Antique Stickpin Gallery we have added an elegant tourmaline stickpin by Hans Brassler and a striking lapis lazuli stickpin by Hayden Wheeler.

Brassler Tourmaline  A verdant green tourmaline framed by a golden laurel wreath capped with inward turning scrolls.  A wonderful example of Hans Brassler's elegantly imaginative interpretation of Neoclassic design.  Crafted in 14kt gold, circa 1910.    Cost:  Sold

Midnight Blue  Soaring Art Nouveau "wings" cradle a midnight blue lapis lazuli in an exotic flower or perhaps flames.  The deep blue lapis glistens with small bits of pyrite (fool's gold) that sparkle like stars in the night sky.  A small silvery pearl is set below.  Crafted in 14kt gold,  circa 1900.    Cost:  Sold

In the Antique Brooch Gallery we added an elegant Art Deco amethyst brooch.

Art Deco Amethyst  A striking Art Deco brooch set with a pale lavender amethyst. The glow of the subtly textured gold beautifully offsets the color of the gemstone.  Crafted in 14kt gold, circa 1930.     Cost:  $365

Recent Additions - Brooch

I have had a very busy month acquiring antique cufflinks, stickpins and brooches, but unfortunately only had time to add a beautiful Art Nouveau brooch in the Antique Brooch Gallery.

Art Nouveau Amethyst  The amethyst rests between the flowing wings of an exotic butterfly or bat. Beneath the amethyst a small pearl glows like a distant full moon.  Created in 14kt gold, circa 1900.

Among the recent acquisitions are beautiful guilloche enamel cufflinks, a striking French chimera stickpin and several elegant dress sets set with colored gemstones. Recent additions to the Antique Cufflink Gallery include an elegant pair of platinum and pearl cufflinks by Carrington and Tiger Eye spool cufflinks from Sansbury & Nellis.

Platinum and Pearl  Luminous pearl and mother-of-pearl centers surrounded by wreathes of stylized laurel leaves.   Beautifully designed and impeccably crafted by Carrington & Co. in 14kt gold and platinum,  circa 1925.    Cost:  $925

Tiger Eye  Striking spool cufflinks with beautiful Tiger Eyes set in yellow gold.  The domed Tiger Eye gemstones are brown accented with rich honey yellow "eyes."  Created by Sansbury & Nellis, circa 1920.    Cost:  $785

Recent additions to the Antique Cufflink Gallery include a striking pair of carnelian cufflinks by Wm. Huger, dramatic Art Deco cufflinks with diamonds and Greek key borders, foggy white chalcedony cufflinks from Sansbury & Nellis and, just in time for St. Patrick's Day, lucky cuff buttons with horseshoes, wish bones and four-leaf clovers.

Elegant Carnelian  Alluring, sultry red carnelians set in bright yellow gold.  The pairing of carnelian and yellow gold reflects the bold colors and contrasts favored during the Art Deco era.  Crafted in 14kt gold, circa 1925.    Cost:  Sold

The Philosopher  A monkey contemplates a small pearl while nonchalantly scratching his back.  The Victorians loved jewels with hidden messages and secret meanings.  This beautifully sculpted stickpin offers a lesson in humility.  Crafted in 14kt gold,  circa 1900.
